The NSVFA and NSVFAA wish to
thank the Nickerson Fire Department for hosting a great 2011
Annual Conference on October 20-21-22, 2011. 160 Fire and
Rescue service personnel registered this year and enjoyed
Nickerson’s wonderful hospitality. The General Assembly met
Friday and Saturday to discuss the business of the
Association. Friday afternoon a very moving Memorial Service
was held honoring firefighters and rescue service personnel
who had passed since the last Annual Conference. Other
activities included an early arrivals social, a Presidents
Dinner hosted at the Fremont Local 22 Union Hall, an Old
Timers Luncheon with a fun presentation by Bob Tichota of
the Blair FD. Attendees had an opportunity to attend two
training seminars instructed by Mr. Crosby Grindle of the
NFPA about “Residential Sprinklers” and “Development of NFPA
Standards”. The Annual Conference concluded with a banquet
Saturday evening attended by 260 persons who enjoyed a
moving program followed by the Annual Auction event with
proceeds designated to the Nebraska Firefighters Museum and
Education Center and Garden.
