The 2009 Legislative Bill Summary is a list of bills that the NSVFA and Nebraska Fire Chief’s E Boards and their respective Legislative and EMS Committees have met to discuss and develop stances for.  Included in this list are the NSVFA/Fire Chief’s five bills listed as their goals above and an additional 32 other legislative bills that have been introduced during the 2009 session that were deemed to possibly affect fire and EMS services. The two Boards are continually observing the proceedings of these bills with the immense assistance of Lobbyist, Gerald Stilmock, in order that they can be pro-active rather than re-active in protecting members and their departments’ interests.

As the bills continue through committee, amendments are always possible which may cause a change in the stance position of the two E Boards.  The NSVFA office will continue to email legislative alerts as they become available on individual bills.
