The Nebraska
Fire Chiefs Association mission is to promote the fire
service throughout the State of Nebraska through
sponsorship of Firefighter Training Seminars and support
of legislation deemed important to volunteer
firefighters, volunteer emergency medical providers and
the fire service in the State of Nebraska. The
organization assists all fire departments by actively
promoting leadership and involvement at the highest
level. Through fellowship in this organization, leaders
continue to learn new methods from each other to
maintain well trained, professional fire departments on
a local level.
2009 Nebraska Fire Chief's Association Seminar Schedule:
The Nebraska Fire Chief’s
Association hosted its first seminar, January 31, 2009.
The seminar was titled “Assault on Firefighters” and
speakers included:
-
Senator Steve Lathrop, District 12, Omaha, Nebraska
-
Firefighter, Brian Zinanni who spoke on a fatal
firefighter shooting incident in Maplewood, Missouri
-
Firefighter, Rodger Alley and Cass County Sheriff
Sergeant, Larry Bonneman, from Ashland, Nebraska,
who talked about the shooting incident which
actually was against firefighter, Rodger Alley.
-
State Fire Marshal, John Falgione, who spoke about a
gun incident at Cortland, Nebraska.
The Nebraska Fire Chief’s
Association is very thankful to the Ralston Fire
Department who hosted this first seminar under the
direction of Fire Chief, Kyle Ienn. The remaining
seminars are scheduled as shown above.
All Fire and Rescue personnel are invited to attend
these seminars.

membership, whether "Active" or "Associate" is $20.00
and a worthwhile investment in the Nebraska Fire
Service.
At the Nebraska Fire
Chiefs Association October, 2006, meeting, the Nebraska
Fire Chiefs voted to have their membership dues run
concurrently with the NSVFA dues membership period which
means that Nebraska Fire Chiefs dues will now be renewed
beginning July 1 and end June 30th of the
following year. Fire Chief membership information will
be mailed with the NSVFA dues information in mid June or
a blank membership form is available below to assist you
in joining the Nebraska Fire Chiefs Association.
